Mondeo ST220's
Just done the same mate, pick it up later today.
Pretty bulletproof seeing as its a Mondeo aswell! "cry"
Common issues - Check doors for corrosion at bottoms, rear subframe bushes go, standard front brakes are notoriously shocking.
Try ST Drivers website and Talkford which have a bit of following for them with more info etc.

Agreed with the above, also rear callipers are notorious for going. Front brakes are terrible, Focus ST brakes are a direct replacement.
Petrol ones seem to be pretty bombproof though!

Not quite as big as they look actually..lol
Side on:

He used to work on Volvo trucks and said some of them have smaller discs..lol

just type st220 into gumtree, tons of them around that price.
I think their a great bargain.
2-2.5K will get you an early model ST.
3K up will get the 2nd and final facelift type, comes with 6spd, better spec usually etc.
I just paid 3.5K for an 04 model with 57K on it, pretty much full spec car, fantastic for the money, drove it 2 days and love it. And the shit fuel myth is bollocks, motorway cruising will return very good miles for a 3ltr powered car! Anybody wanting good miles shouldnt be looking at performance car ranges anyway!

All I need to so now is work out whether to get a 5 or a 6 speed model
Hi I am a real ST nut i do like them
I have had about 12 Mk2 STs ( 24s and 200s)
Have had an St220 as well ( selling at mo due to another ST200) Its a great car
being a saloon model in grey it doesnt stand out as much
I cant knock these cars
MPG I do mixed driving round town and motorways I get 28+ but if i use V Power i see 31+
Mine is a 6 speeder
you wont regret getting one - they are nice and smooth and very comfortable..
