Default Gartrak escorts?

Did they ever make them with a sierra floor pan or was it always with the mk2 escort stuff? Caus my mate just bought a shel and its a mk3 converted to a mk4 with a sierra floor pan, looks a good conversion but the seller said it was done by gartrak and I was sure they didn't use sierra floors, could be wrong tho !

Yeah I always thought they were built using the square type front inner wings and mk2 escort stuff but this has a sierra inner wings and floor, he didn't buy it because it was a gertrac he bought it because it was done to a high standard and its what he wanted but the seller was positive it was a gartrak but had no proof of anything, I think even the kits to convert them were all mk2 parts as well

Sure they had a fabricated floor pan with capri running gear just the inner wings looked similar to a mk2. There were also a few with sierras rear beams. Don't think any of them had a complete Sierra floor pan.
There were also another company called genesis who made rwd mk3's but no where near as good as gartrac. All proper gartracs have steel flared arches.

As far as I know, all genuine Gartracs are on Q plates because they were built from new and had modified shells, though there was a story about a couple that were registered on X plates. Never seen one - in the metal or in pictures - that isn't a Q though.

Gartrac never used Sierra floor pans, everything was fabricated to a very high standard.what you mate had bought is a home build jobby.
i derlt a lot with Gartrack back in the 90s when i was rallying and dealing in rally cars and parts
