Scrap the ofab idea

Go stand alone, will make it easier and will make more power

ST170 bottom ends are forged, would you actually need a decomp plate?

there not forged . i would use the st170 bottom end with a blacktop head and a 1.8mm head gasket and some better valve springs . good for 300hp .

yes they are stronger than a normanl 2.0l bottom end thats why i said its good for 300hp . i know of people running around 350hp but i'd stick to around 300hp if i were building one and thats plenty for a fast road fwd car anyway .
