Default Car tax refund

My Cosworth is now off the road and I will be sending the duty back for a refund. I cannot seem to work out how much I will recieve back off them.

Date today 15/11/12
tax runs out 31/1/13

It is a 6 month tax disc aswell, I think this makes a difference.

Can someone calculate, if they can, how much duty im entitled back?

Thanks.

You should be able to get 2 months back - so what you paid, divided by 3.

They only refund whole months and the refund is based on the 12 month price not the 6 month price. They charge extra for 6 months by adding an admin fee which is not refundable.

I think you should be able to choose x amount of months, so you can just tax it when you need it. Or better still just include it in fuel tax so people that use the road and damage it, pay for it.
