OMP Saff rear strut brace question
How do they connect to the top shock mount, all the photo's I have seen just seem like they are connected to the top bolt and I'm not sure if there's a bush in the end of the brace or what???? - It just looks weak?
I could be wrong.
Anyone got one fitted? Any good?
Or am I better off getting something welded in properly, or modify an OMP brace?
Cheers

I have never seen the point of putting a rear strut brace on a Sapph. The exact position of the struts doesn't change the suspension geometry like it does on the front because of the semi-trailing arm setup on the rear. And the rear window and parcel shelf already give a lot of strength to the shell to reduce the flexing.
I have one fitted to my saff i can take a pic later , it does indeed use a longer bolt ... i added a rear strut brace because the person before me installed 6 x 9 speakers which weekens the rear shelf mine had cracked all the way through i welded this and installed the brace for extra strength , i can show photos of the cracks and repair if intrested ....
I'm just interested in the brace really, is there a bush in it where the bolt passes through?
Once it's fitted does it feel strong and tight, a couple of detailed photographs would be most appreciated mate, I wont worry if you don't post any though.
I just want to know a little more before I commit to buy one, there was a decent deal for both front and rear braces on an E-bay shop.

There is no bush on the end they have simply weded a tube at 90 degrees that the bolt goes inside to close off the brace tube. Have a look on google images most of omp ones are finished like that and there is a few close ups. There are also some ( that i prefer ) with a left and right rose joint on the end so you bolt it in place then twist the brace to apply tension to the shell then lock off the rose joint nuts.
