I was wondering if anyone could help me find details of a 5 door shell. Many years ago my dad bought a rally car with the registration C502AWK.

It had been rolled and was bought for parts along with a spare 5 door shell that had been used for gearbox development but had never been registered or had a log book.

The old shell was panel beaten back into shape and rallied for a year or 2. Eventually it rotted so all the gear was stripped out of the shell and until now has been waiting to go into the development shell.

All we have is the chassis number for the shell. We tried once to get information from the DVLA once but they said they needed log book etc which its never had. Is there a database of chassis numbers I can check it against?

 

If you go to a Ford dealer they can put the chassis number in and get its original reg no.

I know they can do this with modern stuff but im not sure how far back the database goes. worth a shot. or ask someone on here who works in Ford to check for you.
