Default cost to change cambelt on an ST 2.5

Just helped source a 2.5T ST model S-Max for a mate, will need to get the cambelt done right away as its recommended at 125k and this one is already at 99k (2008 model).

Anyone done one on these how many hours to do it and how much is the kit (or how much did you get charged for the job?

Anything other common known issues on these at big miles?

It's about 2hrs mate not that hard to do but you do need the cam locking tools most places charge around £200 and at that big mileage should be fine if it's been serviced well

How do you lock the cams and crack up.Do you have to take the cam shaft cover off like you do with the zetec engines.

There's 2 plastic covers on the back of the head mate then slot the cam locking tool in there and a pin in the block when at tdc

Thanks for the replies £200 sounds fine does not look like there is a lot of room in there to do this job.

Yeah the MPG is not great - but its a 220 bhp van that is not far off the size of a transit.
However its far cheaper than buying the equivalent age/spec sh1tbox diesel version and for a low mileage user like this it makes a lot of sense.
