Hi all,

I only have one key for my car and need to get another cut as a spare.

The key I have is plain black, no colour at all, no chip markings etc.

It will only be used for the ignition as the car is de-locked....

Do I need a key cut and programmed or just cut?

Where can I get this done and how much should I be looking to pay?

if there is no chip should be about 5-10 quid

 

try to get a gen ford blank or even a torch key then have that cut

 

As far as I know if its a plain key then all you need is a normal key to use it. Easiest way to find out is remove the ignition cowling and if it doesn't have a transponder ring around the ignition barrel then all you need is a plain key! Should cost approx £15-£20 supplied and cut from any motor factors or even main dealers I would have thought but don't quote me on it!
