Well I'm going to start getting the bits and space together to start and build one as much as possible like Lee's..(porkie)....as I love that beast..!... So my first question is... Is this the the sort of Westfield/chassis I need to start.?
Many thanks Mat.

You 'could' use it but, its a narrow body ( have you ever sat in a narrow body? It is very tight. Also the independant rear on the narrow body uses rare driveshafts and uprights and getting spares is tricky and wont take the power of a turbo cossie. I know of someone running a Nasp cossie in one, but the torque of a turbo will break them. Best to look for a widebody irs, as they run sierra diffs and sierra driveshafts and are stronger.

So which is the correct chassis and body I need then mate..?... And thanks mate.
My personal opinion...
I wouldnt run a cossie or even a turbo lump in something like a westfield... purely because the way a YB delivers the power is with a massive surge as the turbo kicks in. I would go for something like a E36 M3 Evo engine or maybe a E46 M3 engine and have something with plenty of grunt but also a very nice smooth power delivery. Will make the car a much better drive and I bet quick around a track

M3 engine is too tall and slanted. Seight chassis has a larger tranny tunnel than you need. I believe the T5 will go in the space for the Type 9. You need a widebody Sei or widebody if you want live axle. All IRS cars were labelled SEi, which doesnt help whether narrow or wide, was put in the bulkhead moulding. Any car that fits a Zetec/ CVH / pinto will do.

That one I linked has pinto but is narrow body...
There was a caterham who uses the narrower chassis and had a Cossie turbo in it, but there was no daylight anywhere under the hood to see anything it was that crammed in. Get a Zetec car, and bolt a supercharger on it. You'll get progressive power and about 250 bhp will be nice in 700 kgs.
cos when it does go wrong, its gonna be one fucking big mess

lees budget 15k track westie has kind of blown the budget tho hasnt it? iirc it owes him something like 50k now lol
but it has a sequential gearbox, and custom made pro alloy charge cooler, caterham r500 wheels and arches etc.
i think if i could own a car of that nature, it would be just like lees!
polly x also knows a lot about westies, as his and lees were built by him pretty much lol
both over 500hp to i think!

Lee's is well built... Even tho I was only a passenger the thing absolutely handled and stopped and went like fuck..!.. It's a wicked toy for adrenalin driving.
Yup ill be doing the sequential box and 500bhp.

That video is brilliant. It is as if ye are in a low flying jet just picking off every car that appears. Am I right in thinking I saw an Ariel Atom being passed like it was standing still? This is what life is about, enjoying it. Good man yourself. I wish I had the means.
Feckin hell that Lee can drive. He isn't shy with the throttle, is he.

Having only driven a car with 300bhp and roughly 1200kg to pull, I might do one of two things in a car like that.
1. Shit myself.
2. Enjoy it so much I make sure I own one.

Great thread
would absolutly love Lees car, the sequential box makes it IMHO, got to be getting close to 1000bhp/ton?
Video is comical the way it fires past other cars on the straights, and it seems to hang quite nicely too, much to the upset of some stick in the mud pistonhead goons!
