Hi, ive just recently bought a mk2 escort 4 door as my first car, and was thinking about lowering the back end of the car. when checking the clearance between the tyres and the arches i noticed the left side was much lower than the right. not sure why this is, but any help would be much appreciated. thanks Brad

 

Probably a weaker leaf spring on the one side

 

ive just had a look at the front two arches and its the same problem again, however in reverse. the right arch this time is closer to the wheel than the left. could this also be due to the leaf springs? thanks

 

Don't worry too much about this, I'm sure you're going to replace the suspension with new lowered/uprated kit anyway
