purchased my st170 on an 02 reg 2 days ago battery was flat but started on a jump pack drove home after buying stopping only to get fuel. Parked car up at home went in doors put new batteries in key remote as apprently they were flat, returned to the st after an hour or so remote still not working so unlocked manually but when key put in ignition dash lights come on but will not turn over, when i do turn on the ignition on and the dash lights come on the red alarm light goes mental. my son wreckons it maybe the alarm module, its now frustrating me as i bought the car, managed to get it home and now sat outside as a non runner when i just want to enjoy it. I really hope someone can help, Thank you, Bob

 

have you got a spare key which is not a remote one??

Maybe if the key you replaced the batery in was flat for too long i believe they lose the memory of which car they are paired to....could be wrong though and thats only true for the remote central locking part.
