escort van rear axle/lowering
hi guys, i cant post in the wanted section so posting here.
im lowering my escort van, ive done a search so know what im doing and i had a look tonight but i dont want to cut the brackets for the leaf spring off as i want it totally reversible.
im after either a rear axle (im located in devon), or the leaf spring mounts that need cutting off - hopefully someone will have some lying around or something?
any help greatley apreciated, cheers, tim

Just take your time with it. I'm about to do this on mine and while i've got to admit it's not a job i'm really looking forward to, it should be simple enough. Just be accurate with measuring etc.
I did what you want I left my original mounts bought some Mk2 escort saddle brackets ( eBay ) trimmed them a little sat it on the axle and welded them on, the originals make it perfect to line the others up.
Another van I had bought the guy cut his originals off and welded them underneath but he didn't do it right so the wheels stuck out on one side but not the other.
Either way is fine just make sure its on the right place, for extra brucie bonus add an extra leaf spring each side and it will stiffen the back end up a treat.
Pm me if you want some custom gaz adjustable rear shocks for the van

Do you think these would fit? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2907024023...84.m1423.l2649

no, the springs are above the axle as standard so fitting blocks would lift it

You can always worry about putting it back later if need be.
