Engine made 500.5 bhp & 408 ft/lb when it was dyno'd at Field Motorsport at 24 psi has hit( 42 psi) at times.
Current spec is : 200 block, cooper rings with six long studs, Carillo h-section rods, Cosworth forged and pocketed pistons, BD16 Inlet, BD14 Exhaust, WRC spec big port head, custom plenum and a good old T4. Running on a L8 with MSD coil pack conversion and closed loop with air to air boost control.it also has ALS&launch control
but it is now running on a msd chip which is miles better than when field motorsport mapped it .

my 1.9tdi octavia estate, constantly full to the brim of work gear including a compressor, i see 60+mpg on a run, and 45-50mpg around town in traffic and doing constant short local journeys
slow as shit, but ace on fuel lol

Jaguar XJ 4.2 V8 - 34mpg. Incredible for a huge car with a big 300bhp engine, but aluminium bodied so very light for its size.
Land Rover Discovery 3.9 V8i - 18MPG. Struggles to get into double figures on a stop start up and down journey, can just touch 20 on a good run. High teens average about as good as it gets.
Subaru Impreza STi - 28mpg. Not too bad average really for a 330bhp 4wd turbocharged car. Can get over 30 on a good run.
MGF 1.8i - 38mpg
Fiesta XR2i 1.6 8v - 26mpg - It would do better on a good run, but only got it for attacking the lanes, so never seen great economy, but on a good run should see into the 30's.
Alfa GTV 3.0 V6 - 28mpg
MK1 MR2 1.6 - 30mpg

pug 206 xsi averages 29mpg, not great if i'm honest but will get 40+mpg on a decent 60-65mph run.
vw bora tdi sport 170bhp does average 39mpg, does do a lot of short journeys and gets abused.
mk2 xr2 fiesta 2.1 zetec turbo, high 300bhp area at 1.5BAR, does around 20mpg, 35mpg on a 70mph run, less if on the throttle through the windy roads, had it a slow as 6mpg. £20 does 50 miles usually

Currently have a Hyundai I30 1.6CRDI 113 bhp; getting 52mpg.
Had a BMW 120d was getting 40 doing the same journeys.
Insurance half, tax £30 instead of £165. It all adds up and to be fair aside from the power and ability to go sideways, I have as much fun on the routes I take. I quite enjoy getting the best from a car that has some deficiencies.

55 plate Clio 1.5 DCi
Never seen below 55, average is 65, around town 57 ish, on a steady run over 70. All of this is according to the computer but I do get over 600 miles per tank every time so think it's about right.
In these times a diesel makes more sense to me personally, especially when the road tax is £30.00 a year. If I had more cash I would love another S1 to be honest but until that day the clio is great.
