Default Need help with my zetec s

Hi guys,

Im new to this forum and dont no much about cars but i got myself into a little crash the other day. It looks alot worse than it actually is and ive ordered most of the parts for the car but stuck on one thing in particular what my mate calls the 'slam pan'.

Its basically the metal bar with the bonnet catch on which goes from one side of the engine to the other, well cut the story short mines cracked and need to know what there called.

I can upload a picture if needs be but im doing the car myself..

Many thanks

someone may be breaking one, but if not, the local scrapper will have one, not sure if they are welded in? may be worth a call to Ford to price one up as may be less than you think.

Failing that, try www.zsoc.com as that is a site for fiesta zetec s's.

If you've bent that unless you're a bodyshop whizz getting everything aligned will be a lot harder than you think. Most panel suppliers should be able to supply it for you.

Any pics from under the bonnet. How are the wings sitting, gapping at the doors, how are the chassis legs? Apart from the squiffy bodywork does the car drive straight?

Yeah the car drives perfectly fine, the wings are also fine its just from the impact the bonnet is bent and cant open it, so i havent managed to take the bumper off yet until the new bonnet arrives so no pics unfortunately mate but uploaded a bit of a better one below of the bar im on about.
