Default Rev counter wiring and problem if efi cvh turbo Orion

Hi. I had fitted a Astra get Digi dash to my Orion a year back and the rev counter has always been working but on a low reading ie approx 4000 revs shows about 2000

Anyway I bought a universal rev counter pod type and wired it up to green wire hoping this would be accurate but it's the same as the Digi dash one

My question is could I run a new feed for the rev counter ie from alternator etc as I think the green wire currently goes to the edis module for pickup but maybe this isn't a clean enough signal for non efi rev counters

you wanna take the rev signal from the ECU, reason it reads half is your reading the signal from EFI, that sends a signal half as much as a MFI

So which wire would it be on the ecu. Is there also a green one there or does it connect to a different unused pin ?

If you read the guide to convert mfi to efi In the rs turbo room it covers this and tells you how to rectify

Ok can someone just finally clarify this for me do I take a new green wire from the unused pin on the edit straight to the clocks and just cut and tape back the old one so the engine will still run well ?
