hi there everyone i'm new to the site but had many previous fords mainly old classics but have just bought a diesel van and have a really annoying knocking coming through the rear it sounds like what a knackerd ball joint does on the front but obviously its coming from the rear i've changed the knackerd rear shocks and have just replaced the rusted tank but the knocking is still there can any body please help i'm loosing my mind with the problem

welcome to the nut house, it's nice to see someone else from the southwest, it could be the exhaust knocking, when does it do this knocking sound

Does it have alloys? If so might not have spacers on the rear

does it pretty mucj most the time to be fair dont think its exhaust , but did notice it did it while on off braking at slow speeds on way home from work today but does knock everywhere pretty much

Is there mounts on top of the rear beam?

only u bolts apart from standard brake load adjuster

i been reading a few posts and tried fitting some rubber inbetween the leaf springs , low and behold its stopped the knocking so looks like it was slap on the springs , thanks to the people who have suggested trying this method of repair on this site many thanks
