Default Piggybacking Facet lift pump off Bosch main pump.

I've just wired in my pumps but before I clip all the wiring away properly I just want to double check doing it this way is ok.

The Bosch pump is wired up with a brand new 30 amp wire from the ECU right back to the boot where it switches on a 30 amp relay with 30amp fuse. I've then piggybacked the Facet live feed from the live feed on the Bosch and both pumps earth in the same place in the boot. The relay is then earthed with the small blue wire to its mount. Can anyone see any problems with this?

i would have personaly ran one relay per pump, but as long as they are both getting 14+ volts then its all good i guess.

shorten blue relay earth to make it neater, looks good otherwise, well done

Sean.

Im not 100% sure so forgive me if poss but I would think having a 25a fuse would be better as your circuit and relay would be protected more imo? .
Personally though i would wire them seperately on 2 relays but aslong as the current drawn is adequete i cant see a problem unless the two pumps draw too much for 30A.
Also presuming the live feed to the pumps are direct from the battery through the relay which is 'live' via your switched earth from the ECU.
Earthing the pumps direct the the earth terminal is a prefered method preventing less resistance helping the pump voltages stay good.

I thought the Facet pump should be kept vertical?

My pump only draws 4.7 amps! This is a escort cossie pump! If you want I will try but the bosh 044 the amp meter but I would be surprised if it draws more than 8 amps so 20 amp fuse should be fine!

Bosch pump can easily draw more than 10A.

My pair sitting at idle around 55-60psi draw 22A, and this rises to around 25/26A when under boost.

But that smaller Bosch and a Facet shouldnt trouble a single 30A fuse and relay at all.
