Ok, just after peoples opinions please, I haven't decided on anything definite yet but I am considering breaking my Sapph in the new year, if my enthusiasm doesn't return.
Thing is, it still runs and drives fine atm so would I be best leaving it that way so people interested in the engine/Gearbox etc could hear it running? Or would I just be best off pulling it apart and then just advertising stuff? Never broke a car before so not sure the best way to go about it.
Cheers, Karl

leave it in the car until someone buys the engine at least, once the engine and box has sold then strip the rest
you've got some nice bits on it mate so it will sell easily

Tbh I reckon enough People know about the car so would sell most stuff very quickly as for the engine as said do a good quality vid and I'm sure you will sell it all quick enough.......

It's such a shame that the actions of a complete knob has clearly took away your passion for the car
As said after most people have seen your resto thread they will know that they are buying good parts
Good luck with what ever you deside

Good luck with whatever you decide to do with it Karl.
I'd advertise itsaying you were going to break the car in two weeks or so from the advert date, then just make a list of whats sold and strip those parts off first. the two weeks also gives people the oppertunity to come and see the engine running.
I always try and sell engines and boxes as " tested " heard running etc,
then if you sell it to a complete knob who either wires it up wrong or thrashes the shit out of it and comes back a week later you can simply tell them to do one as they and youknow the items were in perfect working order and fit for purpose when they bought them
There a famous thread about me selling a very very cheap cossie engine to a lad who chose the very very cheap ( Ł800 ) engine rather than a Ł1500 engine he could hear running , and after 3/4 months of using this Ł800 engine and blowing it up on the rollers , then coming back to me for his money back , lol
He was told to go away even tho he chose a cheap engine i had never heard running ,
Now i strip engines i can hear running rather than take that risk again
selling as a not heard engine just isnt worth the hassle
Paul

Who built the engine? Guy who bought my engine couldnt hear it running as it was already out the car but a quick phone call to Mark was all he needed as Mark verified exactly what i said, ie engine is fine etc etc.
If your engine was built by you, then best to let perspective buyers hear it running

Yes that was my thinking Paul, it wouldn't be a cheap engine and I don't want any comebacks.
It was built by Mike Hall, ex turbosystems, now owns M.A.S tuning. Came from Kev sharps escort.

Haha, installments would be fine mate, but the bits wouldn't leave until paid in full obviously, that's how I paid for the engine tbh.
Only thing I don't like about having people come round to listen to it etc is the possible timewasters and people I don't know knowing where all the bits are lol.

Mark did exactly the same for me on the 500bhp engine from the escoss i broke this year
It also depends on who you are selling it to tho
sell an engine to some twat who thinks he is a gangster and no matter what the builder said , if they blow it up because they are a twat they will still come back acting the hard man , and even tho shit like that doesnt bother me , its hassle you dont need
Saves hassle if they hear it running IMO
i have broken 3 cars now just stripped and sold the lot, the longest it has taken to sell it all is 8 weeks bar having odds and sods left which arent really worth any money anyways.
for reference i made approx Ł11500 from a 470 hp saph, Ł13500 from an 580 hp r32 gtr and Ł23000 from a 800 hp supra.

some sound advice on here Karl from Matt & paul, it will defo be worth more in parts than selling complete even though it will be hard to strip it for you, simply think of the wonga it will bring you then emotions can DO 1 , its all about the money money money as Jesse J says

I still might yet mate, just sick of seeing it how it is and don't like the focus being stuck on the drive, could do with tucking it away somewhere out of sight for a bit. Can't say I've really missed driving it but i do miss having a bit of a tinker with it and just cleaning it lol.
