Default Storing my car outside for winter, underside q?

I've got a xr4i which I've sorned for winter. It's likely it will be sat about until spring.

What can I do to it to protect it. I've bought a fully waterproof breathable car cover, dehumidifier pots for interior but its underneath I'm not sure about

It has been stone chipped by previous owner. Should I spray something over it like wd40 or wax oil

Cheers ben

Also anything I ca do to protect engine bay?

Car looks tidy underneath. I would have thought that if you leave it on a hard standing like a concrete or tarmac driveway it should be ok (rather than damp grass). I've heard of people putting a few old blankets in the engine bay in the past but make sure you remember to remove them if you start it up periodically.

On hard standing is best. No grass!

Hard standing and make sure the air can get under the car. Don't tuck the cover to the floor thinking that's good as it isn't - you need to let the air get around it as much as possible.

see if you can get a second hand carcoon the out side version! they have little fan to keep the air flowing and the car dry. failing that you might want to knock up a set of fans to help keep the air moving under your car. If I were to do this I would think about some 12v ones scavenged from old PC power supplies! you could power them from the battery and leave it on charge so it doesn't go flat!

Thanks for replies, it will be on a hard standing. Do you know the reason for blankets as never heard of that before. Would it be good idea to cover engine bay in silicone spray?
