Default A little leather question

What's good stuff to use on leather to give it that nice supple mat finish. Also give it a good treatment at the same time

It's black leather if that makes any difference

Use a mild APC 10/1,the key to nice clean leather is to use a brush to get into the grain/texture.
I use a swissvax soft brush,a stiff washing up brush can be good on stubborn dirt, just dont push hard or it will damage the leather.

Agitate the APC and wipe away with a pale microfibre (so you can see the dirt your removing),repeat the process untill no dirt transfers onto the cloth.

You can use a " Conditioner " after but the experts say modern leathers do not need feeding with conditioners, main reason modern leathers are painted and also have a cleatcoat on top of the paint,so your not realy conditioning the leather.

Most leather conditoners contain leather essence to make the leather smell .

Oh and as far as stuff goes, you can use autosmarts G101 but be carefull its very strong and needs to be diluted ( not sure on the ratio as i dont use it).

I use Autogylm Super interior cleaner diliuted 10/1 or Gtechniq W2 at 10/1.

If it's worn bad (like on a saff driver seat) I used a bit boot polish

Trust me on this!

I've done some bad cars and if it's poor condition mix Black boot polish with baby oil and mash it into a paste the work it into the leather DONT buff it or it'll go shiney like your shoe's.

Then use a normal leather cleaner and it'll be safe to sit on

Don't touch conditioners.

Leather ir painted a laquered like your car.
Conditioners just add oils onto the surface of the leather which in turn attracts grit which polishes the leather up slowly and makes it shiny.

Best stuff I ever used for leather came from http://www.lttsolutions.co.uk/auto/a...a-150-kit.html
