Default Focus RS MKI

My MK I Focus RS which I got at the start of August.

I will never take this as far as I took the Saph. I do like having a thread to keep a track on things I have changed on my cars, so here goes.

The day I collected the car after a quick wash:

What i was greeted with under the bonnet:

I hate stainless covers and hate polishing metal even more, these were removed straight away.

I had to add one of these the same as all my Fords over the last 7 years have had. Me and 2 of my mates who all had Fords and were in the RAF together made the name up for a laugh and Sticky Designed a sticker for us

I then added a new stereo which i had lying about for 12months. This came in a car my friend bought and when he sold it i asked if i could have it. I have never really been into stereo's and stuff but i really like this.

I then added Amber indicators and gave the car a good clean up and got the body work looking a little better.

I then bought a second hand Mongoose and fitted this on Saturday, the only pic i have so far:

Cheers for the comments.

Rich, There's plenty of room for cake mate.

Paul, The flaps will be staying but i will do the spacers when i fit the H&R's, my new wheels are a different offset so don't want to go to wide with the hub spacers.

Glenn, Yes all new surround then a little 'trimming' of the plastic behind.

Andy, Yes you can get them from Ford, I just took the reg of an early one that has them standard and gave this to the parts man as they don't like having to do any proper work.

I have 2 other gauges to fit so I will have to fit a pod around the clocks as well.

The vent pods look the neatest I think.

Did a little more this morning as i got bored. I fitted my scan gauge and new Ford Mats.

Then i added some heat barrier to the bonnet.

Then a picture of the new header tank which i think really freshens up the bay, also my heat wrapped down pipe.

Gave the old girl a wash last night as she was covered in tree sap from outside work. Nipped around Lee's and got him to snow foam it.

With a standard Turbo, manifold, exhaust, & injectors around 320-340bhp.

Over 400bhp if you have all the bits to go with it.

Really? That standard? Surprised by that, only thought they was 240-260bhp.

Well I decided to take the manifold off last Saturday to sort the blowing gasket. In he process one of the turbo studs snapped. I needed to remove the turbo so I could get the stud out which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I checked the turbo and sure enough it was fucked! I honestly do not know how it wasn't smoking its bag off as soon as you started it up.

I got onto Pete at Demon Performance Centre who sorted me out with a recon in a few days, cheers mate!

Now while I had this stripped down I decided it would be a good chance to fit tidy a few other bits up, so I have taken off the metal water pipe, heat shield and dip stick tube, I have rubbed down the power steering pump so I can paint that. I also have a set of genuine hoses off a 15k mile car so I am going to fit these. I have measured up all the hoses and I will get new jubilee clips for them tomoro.

Put the car back together this afternoon.

New turbo on, manifold painted, new coolest hoses, new inlet pipe, painted the power steering pump and heat shield for rocker cover, then fitted my Pro Alloy Charge cooler rad I have had lying around for 6months.

I am starting to like how the engine bay looks now, there's a few more bits I want to change but no rush.
