Default When fuses go bang!

They dont half shit you up! Forgot how loud they can be when they short out, proper shook me up!

Was looking for a place to pull over down some country lanes not far from preston, bearing in mind I was lost in the pitch black with my mate, then an almighty bang and a big blue flash from the pedals somewhere, crapped my self not knowing what it was at first. Speedo went dead (its a corsa B by the way) but everything else seemed okay, didnt know what was working and what wasnt but it kept running. So I pulled over

Last time somthing like this happend it was a bike and the loom caught fire almost straight away so I proper cacked it this time. Took the fuse box cover off and everything seemed okay so I put a GPS speedo on my phone so I could see how fast I was going (not that it seemed accurate in the slightest) and the car got me home okay!

Was looking around the dash to see what would of caused it and I did spill a drink down the dash, only a little bit, so I though that was the problem.

Turns out (as I dont smoke) I use the ashtray as a change jar and a 1p got stuck in the cigarette lighter socket and shorted a 20amp fuse out!
Which also is the fuse for the auto box (thankfully mines a manual) the heater fan and the reverse lights, also the speedo!

Lucky it wasn't somthing important!
