Default rs2000 erratic tick over

can anyone help??, just bought a 96 rs2000 4x4 as a project, which now seems like it's turning into a nightmare to be honest, car drives fine, but has erratic tick-over and sometimes will stall, changed lambda sensors, idle control vale, had codes read all clear, and reset to manufacturers settings, removed the pipe work from manifold etc., cant find any air leaks, it's getting to the stage where im going to twat the bitch with a hammer.

or does anyone know of a carb conversion set up for sale??

thanks terry

My mate had this on his 2wd rs2000 and it turned out to be the seals on the injectors. We changed them all re-set the ecu and after a quick drive it settled its self down and been fine since

Has the battery been changed or unplugged recently? if so did the ECU relearn the engine?

To do this unplug battery over night reconnect then start the engine. THEN JUST LEAVE to idle for about 5 mins without any interference or turning off! -Job done

see if this helps!

tried that Brendan, just as you said about battery, from cold it starts first turn, fast idle around 1200rpm, after a minute or so it will drop to 900-1000 rpm, and is ticking over fine for about 30 sec, then revs are up and down 500-1500 and it will stay like that for as long as you like.

If you find it's the injector seals you can also try scuba outlets for seals. Some of them will also sell Viton rubber too. Scuba seals are good way past most pressures you need in a car! 230 bar or 3500 psi is normal!
