Default FOR SALE: Well specced MOT'd track & drift Sierra Sapphire 24v Cosworth.

Ebay auction:
Ford Sierra Sapphire 24v Cosworth, RWD drift/track and MOT'd- Fast Ford featured | eBay

I don't really want to sell this, but as my Capri drift project is nearing completion the sale of my Sierra well help fund that project.
This is a very well known car, and I am the third owner to drift competitively with it in the British Drift Championship.
I have owned it for almost 3 years, and have used it on tracks all over the UK for both grip and drift.
Also as I am a contributor to Fast Ford magazine the car has been the subject of four in depth six page features documenting my experiences with it!

I've had my ups and downs with the car, but it has always been repaired and modified when any issues have appeared.
Currently it's sitting at the best spec' it has ever been.
If you want a track/drift car that will deliver relentlessly after all the Jap cars have broke down, this is what you want!
And if you're into Fords and drifting this is by far the best place to be! Bypass the headaches of trying to build a competitive Sierra yourself and just buy this ready made one which as had all the development time put in!

The evidence is in this video.
Including top 3 BDC qualifications beating cars with much more power, plus being able to do the likes of link up the famous high speed complex at Silverstone!
http://youtu.be/SZPAv-QsCAI
MOT'd until 28th March 2013
Solid shell
Weld in multi point BDC spec cage
2x Corbeau Buckets seats
2x TRS 4 point harnesses
Suede OMP style dished steering wheel & Boss
Approved plumbed in fire extinguisher
Battery cut offs
Various parts of engine and interior wiring loom repaired and renewed in September.
Fuel filter and fuel lines re-routed away from wheels to eliminate delaminating tyres causing problems
Steel custom radiator mounting/protecting framework assembly

Chassis:
Recent Rally design compression strut kit (makes a HUGE improvement on front end grip and predictability).
Recent fully adjustable for height and stiffness AVO coilovers
Recent 650 lb springs up front, 450 lb at the rear
Rally Design Hydraulic handbrake with a good firm bite
Custom camber & toe shims to adjust rear geometry for increased grip and even tyre wear
4x4 Cosworth brakes & 2WD Cosworth hubs
Rally Design Adjustable TCAs
Rally Design Adjustable top mounts
Custom TREs and 24v Rack for extra lock
Recent 4 wheel alignment, set up to work well for both grip and drift.

Drivetrain:
Cosworth 2.9 24v BOA good timing chain guides, no bad noises, way faster than the numbers suggest.
Chipped ECU, should be doing at least 220BHP
Getrag 265 custom gearbox conversion by MJ Racing (costs a grand and proven to over 700BHP!)
3.9:1 Chizfab welded diff
Single box stainless exhaust, sounds good and still passes track noise regs.
Cosworth group A air filter
Recent uprated alloy aftermarket Cosworth YB radiator with new twin fans.

Exterior:
Full RS Cosworth kit... Bumpers, sideskirts, grille, spoiler, vented 4x4 bonnet
Pre 90' retro amber front and rear lights
Full polycarb window set (could do with a good polish after stickers were removed).
Zebra stripe livery and BDC sticker pack
It had full paint when I bought it almost 3 years ago, then the front end was repainted after a bump a year ago.
Brand new RS dealer style 'Fast Ford' branded number plates
Black rare 8 hole 15" Weller dishy steels.
Aerocatch locking flush bonnet pins
Regulation boot fasteners
Quick release pins on the bumpers

The not so good bits:
-Be aware this has been used as a track car, so bumpers are tatty and there are plenty of 'battlescars' on the paint. But in photos and from the track-side it still looks great.
-The engine has always leaked a bit of oil when left sitting cold. Never been enough to worry about though.
-The idle has always been a bit rough, but it doesn't cut out.
-cracked driver's mirror
-Some bits don't work, like reverse lights, speedo, etc. Remember this is a track car with an MOT, don't expect a luxury vehicle!
-The clutch release bearing started being noisy towards the end of last year just after the clutch plate was replaced. Doesn't sound nice when left idling with the clutch disengaged, but when driven the noise goes away, and it doesn't effect the car's driving abilities in any way. My most recent day with the car involved it being drifted all day long for paid 'drift taxi' rides at the Scottish Car Show at Ingleston in July with no problems whatsoever!

The night photos with the car on black wheels are recent, and as the car will be sold.
The action shots and video are from 2011 and early 2012.
If this car had a YB fitted it would be selling for big big money, but the far stronger BOA makes it cheaper and more suited to high revving drift use.
Personally I hope the new owner turbos the BOA and makes it the best of both worlds!

Someone is going to get themselves a well sorted motor! How much speed did you have to go into brooklands to have enough momentum to be able to link into luffield like that?

It was a flat out start from the bridge that we were allowed, so that would be about the top of 3rd/halfway through 4th I think depending on which run it was....
Guessing 80/90MPH entry then pretty much on the limiter in 3rd the whole way round

Totally is. It happly does grip and drift, so it can whatever you like!

Still mega cheap right now! Way less than half what it would cost to build right now too!
Get a bid in, no reserve, so it goes for the highest one!
