Hi Guys,

A while back my car stopped idleing when it was cold and I had to give it some revs to start it. However the problem keeps getting worse now it wont idle when its warm and often cuts out when rolling up to traffic lights etc. also when i start it or rev it there is a strong smell of petrol in the car?

Also sometimes the power just randomly goes, I put my foot down and basically nothing happens but then a minute or two later it will be ok.

Anyone got any suggestions? Ive tested for air leaks and cleaned the carb...im starting to think fuel pump or lamda sensor?

 

These operate a dizzy I take it? Check to see if it has cracked. Probably wants replacing.

 

It's "CFI" I should think?

Tbh both the carb and CFI were useless, so it could be one of these causing problems.

It was the lambda sensor I unplugged it earlier an it ran the same so a trip up to the scrap yard later I parted with a fiver for a new lambda sensor and she runs fine again
