Default Help please Ford Galaxy with starting problem

Hi all
I have a Ford Galaxy petrol 1996 2.0 with Intermittent starting problem. Please can someone help its doing my head in Breakdown guy sprayed cold start into air intake and it started so he reckons that its fuel pump but others have said it could be relay/immobiliser lights all come on and engine always turns but sometimes will fire up others it just turns over and the fuel pump doesnt hum. The red light on the door is constantly on when it wont start Thanx Gary

Switch ignition on so the ignition lights are on and listen for the fuel pump, might be better if someone sits in the back for it, do it a few times, if no noise, fuel pumps dead, check fuses. If the fuse is okay then get looking for a new fuel pump!

Hi Robbie
Thanx for your reply, could it also be the relay, if so is there a way to check the relay?
Regards

Gary

Could well be the relay worth a look! Couldn't tell you how to test one though
