I have a 2003 Fiesta Finesse with the 1.3 duratec engine that has a couple of problems I hope you can help me with.

It was my mother’s car and has only done 8000 miles from new and serviced regularly, but it seems to die when I hit a hill and is generally lethargic – fuel consumption is not that great either.

It also has a slight miss when the engine comes back to idle when the engine’s warm, and sometimes misses when changing gear over 40mph. The car takes off from stop ok and starts no problem, so I’m a bit stumped. I borrowed a computer from a neighbour and there were no fault codes.

Could it be the lambda sensor?
