Default Focus Rs for golf ED30

Thinking of selling the focus Rs for a Golf edition 30 what are your views ...?

We love the focus but fancy a change my current focus has only had one prevouse owner...( the managing director of ford) and has only covered 28k now bought it with 19k and it's been faultless... But really fancy a change..

Well I'm in a position to buy one outright so maybe I'm best storing the focus while I sample one... That's what the Mrs wants to do but we already have a fleet...

The 30 IMO is a much better built car in terms of quality, as they say you can't beat German engineering! But I love the mk1 focus rs really nice cars.

If you can store the focus and buy a edition 30 then fuck me do that!!! Win win situation. But personally I don't think there will be one clean enough for your anal cleanliness lol.

Honestly mate, his car is unreal....even when it was std I was impressed.

If you've got the chance to keep the focus put it away, but I will give you 6monhs and it would be for sale.

We've decided focus is stopping... Going to sort storage out for it.

Don't have the same visual impact as the Focus IMO but if you're able to have both then why not.

DSG is flappy paddle box. Yeah, same as golf GTi engine but with better internals, bigger turbo K04? and injectors iirc. Much better base for power, mates is around 340bhp. Brilliant car! Far better build quality than the RS. Still love the RS though, the golf is a little classier I feel.

Honest question..
Any particular reason why you have picked the ed30 over the r32 or type r?

Drive one and see if you like it, there not mega quick standard but a simple remap see's 290-300bhp, quick then. Deffo DSG too, so much better than manuel.

I did a 8:38 yesterday around the Ring, thats with not too many mods and my tyres are poop!

i know what you are saying about the r32, but the 4wd element is fantastic. Have you considered the S3?

Ah cool!

It just has the best of both worlds, boost and 4wd

Plus it's a really nice car to be in. Not that I'm knocking the mk5, I have one myself. Wish i had an ed30.

You wont be disappointed with the Golf never had a issue, they only run well on Super Unleaded. Handle well, never feel out of place bit of a allrounder really.

If your gonna go for DSG, just beware of the Mechatronics! Coilpacks where a recall so check it been done.

Owned 4 year on a Stage 1 remap from Alan Day and dont see it going anywhere too soon.

Matt - take the mrs for a test drive in the golf r before you committ, it might just change her mind! With a remap you are easy looking at 0-60 in the high 4's. My mates did a 12.5 1/4 mile

Not bad for basically a standard car!
