Default SOLD - 1991 Sapphire cosworth 4x4 - SOLD

NOW SOLD THANKS.

Selling my 1991 Sapphire Cosworth 4x4. Bit of background on the car. I have owned this car for 13 years, bought in August 1999 and the mileage at the time was 56,250. Car has had 5 previous owners and mileage now is genuine just under 76k. Loads of history, receipts, previous mot's etc with the car, It has never covered much more than 3k per year since I have had it,and sometimes a lot less, and hasn't been used at all in the winter in the last 10 years or so as I ran it as a second car. Was sorn'd since May 2011 but has just had a new MOT and tax till 01/13.

Shell is very very straight, not even a car park ding to speak of really. Arches were rolled properly by Moorland Classic cars who also did a bit of other work at the same time. Outer window seals were changed after I bought the car and are still mint. Comes with a carflow outdoor cover (much better than a classic additions one)

Engine runs very nice. Live map by Reyland at 74k miles, 313bhp / 360lb on standard T3, greens, 3 bar etc. Reliable power level and nice and punchy with the standard sized turbo. Pace cooler & alloy rad. Vernier pulleys on standard cams. 044 fuel pump and Grp A coil. Fuel pump wiring re-done by Reyland. PiperX cone filter, twin rail strut brace and aeroquipped bailey tanks. Cam belt also done at 74k. Magnex stainless exhaust. Oil always changed every 3k with either castrol RS or recently Silkolene.

18" comp mo's with 215/35 tyres. Spare is brand new 18" mo and tyre.

Koni adjustables with Ahmed bayoo springs, polybushed throughout.

Brakes are Ap racing 330mm 4 pots front and standard size on the back but with drilled and grooved discs.

Interior is tidy raven leather, usual wear on the drivers bolster and a small hole, but all the rest of the leather is pretty mint.

Bad points, rust on nearside rear arch at back end, about 1.5 inches long. Sunroof leaks like lots of them, so headlining a bit scruffy. Power steering heavy, fluid pink so air is getting into the system somewhere. It has been like this for quite a few years but hasn't worried me enough to get it sorted. LHF door card leather has shrunk a bit. Some side skirt clips broken etc, all typical cossie stuff.

LHF door is a bit manky - non genuine skin. I have a very clean door to replace this with, I bought a full set of doors just to get the LHF so the others will be included too if the buyer wants them. Colour is a good match, just needs to be fitted.

Will try to get a few more pics at the weekend if I get a chance to clean it, interior, recent
engine pic, arch rust etc.

No concours car but cleaner than a lot of cossies, Priced realistically at £5300 and too good to break. Not looking for a p/x and car is in Birmingham for genuine viewing.

Edit - Got a guy viewing it Saturday morning pending seeing some more pics.

Looks like a nice and genuine car. Very honest advert too. I don't think it would take much to fix the little problems. This will be a good buy for whoever buys it. GLWTS

Hi, no this wasn't at ford fair. Will give it a wash at the weekend and will take up to date pics including the bad bits. Its actually a very clean car but have been very honest with the description as there is nothing worse than turning up to see something that is described as mint to find an old shed.

yeah I reckon its worth a bit more too but want a quick sale and not have endless timewasters. Some of the cars on this board sit on here for weeks and weeks.
