Default Best front brake kit or 2wd staff... Under standard 15's?

Fast road saff 2wd with 380bhp, will never go on the track but want it to stop well... It's on standard 15" rims.

What I the best brake kit available or what kits are out there that can be modded? Basically looking at the ultimate 4-pot / 285mm disc braking solution I suppose?

Your help would be much appreciated, thank you.

Ben

Bloody iPhone predictive text in thread title lol!

I don't think there will be any, as it's very close with the excellent standard brakes (283MM)

Perhaps some decent pads though, i.e. EBC/Mintex etc.

might be worth speaking to Charl1e (i think thats right) iirc he has a saph car that he races that has to be on standard wheels, pretty sure he managed to get some different brakes under them?

A lot of people will disagree with suggesting ebc but I had no problems running dimpled and grooved discs and red stuff pads.Worked from cold, not noisy and not a great deal off dust.

Thanks for all of your replies so far, much appreciated. Had a saff which I swapped from standard brake to ap 4-pots with 330's under 17's and i enjoyed the car so much more... Ha a 3-door too with standar brake and hated it!

Noticed that thread by char1e but didn't say what kit he ended up with, will drop him a line. Am wondering if one of the of the shelf 300mm+ 4-pot kits out there can just be slightly modded or if it's a full custom bells and brackets job?

Thanks again all ideas welcome!

AP 4 pot setup, this is mine fitted to my mk4 escort track car. They just about fit behind rst 15s, you may have more clearance with your cosworth wheels too.

Not an off the shelf kit mate, no. A friend of a friend got them done, then I bought them off him. He had to supply him a wheel, hub and shock so there were no fitting problems. It's mainly getting the offset of the discs correct along with the bracket to match.

Ive been looking for the same thing for my cortina,

Only off the shelf kits i could find was Hi-spec or K sport,

K sport wanted a 300 quid sur charge unless i ordered 3 kits so i told them to ram it.

Hi-spec could do a 285mm kit off the shelf but said they may get a 305mm depending on what wheels.

If there are other people interested in the same thing may be get some discount for combining an order
