Thanks in advance!

You'll be in safe hands with Tank Mike if you do go with him RichieL, he's based near heathrow but will travel to you.
Most of them mate yes, as its evolution chips actually "doing" them, Mike will just be sending your file off to them for modification, then Kenny or Stu will actually make the alterations, then Mike will put it on your car and make sure it has worked correctly.
Thats the beauty of the evolution chips system, you aren't actually relying particularly on the quality of the installer, its Stu and Kennys knowledge that you are relying on, so even if you went to an installer who doesnt actually know how to map a car (Mike does, as he deals with aftermarket ecus etc too) you still get a good result, as they only need to know how to operate the evolution system really.
My girlfriend can do it for example, recently she did my mates BMW 330 with the evolutions gear (I was watching of course!), and yet she has VERY little experience of actual mapping (she did a bit on my turbo clio at part throttle for cruise on the fuelling side and thats literally her only experience of actual mapping so far)
So basically you get the benefits of "chipping" a car, ie mobile installation, quick, but with most of the benefits of "mapping" a car, ie your immobiliser codes are retained as Stu/Kenny will merge the modified file with yours and the map can also be custom tailored on some applications if an off the shelf chip isnt quite right. (I did one where the customer had built a T4 van with a mishmash of parts, 85bhp ecu, 110bhp engine, 150bhp injectors etc, and Kenny had to keep tweaking it to get it right as none of their off the shelf maps suited)
Really is the best of both worlds IMHO, its no wonder they are so successful.

So who would I need to talk to regarding the spec of the car at present and what
hardware would be needed for say a stage 2 remap?
Mike if he was the one carrying out the work or Stu as he would be adjusting the map?

Mike probably has more time though for a long chat. Stu is normally loopy busy. Lol.
Cheers Chip, Its not for me anyway.
I have been helping a mate out with his golf 1.8t over the past few months and
is getting ready for a remap. Ill put him in touch with Mike.
He was going to go with R-tech but Ill get him to talk with Mike and see what he suggests
