...don't forget to bring BOTH parts of your driving licence. You will not be able to go out on track without.
And without wishing to repeat myself, it's Fords only.

You obviously will also need a crash helmet too
I remember them going on about keeping windows closed and wearing long sleeves and no dodgy suction mounted cameras on the windscreen as well
And don't forget you MUST attend the drivers briefing at least an hour before you are on track

It was meant to be Fords only for 2010, and was loosely enforced for 2011 because the rule wasn't made clear until tickets had been on sale for a while. It's Fords only for 2012. There may be the odd non Ford out on track, but the vast majority will be Fords.
See here... http://www.fordfair.co.uk/2011/02/14/track-time-rules/
The driving license rules aren't ours, they're Silverstone's. It's up to them whether they'll let old style licences on track - if in doubt give them a call.
There 'may' be some available on the day - but get there early, as it sells out fast.
It was 102dB drive by last year IIRC so it will probably be the same. If in doubt bring a big silencer!

No. It's Ford's only for 2012.
No.
it was supposd to be fords only last year as well and only peeps who had bought tickets way way back in the beginning for non fords were allowed after the notifications were posted up

I'm reading some posts saying that it is Ford only then Dan's above is saying there are exceptions.
Dojj, I know about those, I'm just saying that it looks like people have been allowed to slip through the net.
I know of somebody else that has track time and doesn't own a Ford as well.
The main reason I'm pissed off is I'm getting burnt beef and soggy veg on Sunday now.

maybe they are using last years pwperwork to avoid felling any more trees in the rainforest
although dan is your man to answer all questions in relation to that (unless he decides to pass the buck onto the person who is in charge of running the show itself, used to be a bloke called ian buti think he's gone and been replaced by an alison or a susan or soemthing)

I don't see the windows closed rule on the Ford Fair website at
http://www.fordfair.co.uk/2011/02/14/track-time-rules/
though I've been on track before at FF and was told too.
If we already have to put on long clothes, it's going to be like a bloody oven in my car. Can we have the windows open a bit? I saw plenty going round with windows half-down when I was last on track.

Sorry Steve and Dan but to me that's not very clear. Just because I act a fool sometimes doesn't mean I am one! I would have bought a ticket and track time if I'd have thought I would be able to take a non Ford on. I'm doing Trax instead now

I hear you mate and I understand where your coming from, the thing is with track time most turn up and see its a nice day and fancy having a go if not sold out, where that plan falls apart is when its damp day and the track places could have been sold to non fords are now vacant, whatever happens on the day Im sure it will be a success
