Default I think I might just appreciate an MOT more in England after seeing this in the USA!!

I have come over to the USA (Omaha, Nebraska) to see friends and family etc etc, now i know all different states have different laws etc etc, but here they dont have an MOT or no safety checks or aspects towards there cars.
1. one family member few months before i arrived had brake failure due to corrosion in the pipes luckily his 6 month old baby wasnt in it at the time and was on highway so used the handbrake to trickle home. when he repaired it he just replaced the corroded bit

2. another family member said to me last night, he replaced this n that, i was like cool, he said but still hasnt got round to fully bleeding the back cylinder that he replaced so he has to pump it quickly before he stops, i said to my dad fuck that

3. driving down the highway the otherday and this truck has no sills whatso eva i was like fuck me

4. another friend of the familys drives this car, and it makes a sound in all four corners, like when the balljoints go, she got pulled by the police because her exhaust was to loud because it had rusted and feel off

i thought fuck me, i aint ever moaning at my MOT man again, yeh some of them can be ass holes i know but

I remember when i visited Florida years ago seeing this car pass us with a huge section of rusted rear quarter and lower sill completely missing and you could see inside the boot lol
I recall learning then that an emissions test is all that is needed .

I had a holiday in Dominican Republic and one day went into the local village of Luperon, put it this way, if a vehicle will move fowards and backwards it will do, see a couple of artic trucks with no brake lines between unit and trailer.

Christ alive! Thats mad! I remeber watching one of Clarksons programmes in Cuba, it was mad there. Remeber them making brake fluid on it and ever car had some sort of Lada diesel engine in it.
