try one of the lower temp ones for the RS's ask MSD in Blackpool they have some that open a bit lower than standard also try water wetter from redline this works well too! if you have an alloy rad paint it MAT black

You can try to give a good flush to the cooling system and put some heat wrap on the down pipe. It would help you to keep it cool.

Its been flushed loads and downpipe is wrapped.

I ran it dry on water due to a cracked radiator and no temp gauge We took the head off and the head bolts were loose but no other damage so tightened it all up and now it dosnt loose any water but still gets hot!

Water pump and radiator are new. I put in some kseal just to be sure.

What else can i try?

something warped maybe an this is affecting cooling? have you checked the head? as ut is at the top and can be difficult to flush! If you want to be really sure you can try using a hose connected to mains water at one end and into the engine using jubilee clips, plastic push fit and gaffa tape, this means you can really get a good seal and the pressure might dislodge any grunge built up of the years! then try filling using a vacuum system do there are no water locks and use water wetter as well as a good "antifreeze" .

good luck - pm me if you can't find a good vacuum filler kit If I am in the area I will work something out!
