Honestly, I am unsure,it's states something regards all bits from a cosworth, but until I see it I wont know to be sure.

I would hope the engine and wheels would recoupe my money should it not turn out to be a proper shell?

I did think that as that's why there are the floor pan photos plus on one wheel arch you can see seam sealer.

Well went to collect this this afternoon and i left it there, car is basically just a shell with literally no parts in it at all, plus it had no floor plans in the front, originally a red car and very ropey (fibre glass body kit) etc. Original car was a sierra so not a straight swop of parts

It's just too much to me to take on at the minute, it did come with about twenty or so boxes of bits but I just felt it wasn't worth all the effort.

Oh yes engine was rebuilt but over five years ago,

Not for me I have too many Projects on the go and this was basically a complete rbuild.

Yes I am a time waister, I bid on the car (with a description of what it is) I drew the Ł3500 out my bank account, put Ł60 of fuel in my recovery truck and took the afternoon off work,i turned up to a car with no floor, various damaged parts and missing parts and also definitely not what it was descirbed as.

A genuine time waister doesnt do all the above. Well not the ones I have met, they tend to bid and that is all you see.

If the advert is as badly written as that then you're no timewaster pal

Not the way i would see it - the car was not as described so surely he was within his rights to decline. Ok it may be best to view before bidding but it's not compulsory and it's not always possible.

hey thats just my opinion, you bid you buy if you are unsure go look and make sure it is what it is. dont pull the seller down because it's not what you want. we all want a bargin just go and have a look before commiting to a sale. if its to far to go look its to far full stop

fair play for walking away !! too many people turn up to pick up something that wasnt as it was descibed and still think they have to take it away.

as for the time waister comment , hes not a time waister at all , ebay rules state that if the item is not as descibed you have the right to walk away from the deal as the description was intentionally missleading.

so if he did try to leave you negative feed back all you have to do is contact ebay tell them what happened and theyll delete the feed back and give you your 100% record back.

nice looking dog staffy owner and we are all entitled to our opinions. im not out to pay out on old mate but a quick look would have been a wise move it is a bitsa car so makes sence to go look. there are not many golden eggs out there having money in hand and looking at a scruffy old car and parting with your hard earned cash is hard.it is a look a like simple as 3.5k i would not even gone to look it will be shite as we now know

Cheers mate and sure, your opinion is just as valid as everyone elses, i think we are just looking from different angles. I agree it's always best if you can look before you bid but ultimately i think it's up to buyers to provide the most accurate description that they can. At least then when the buyer turns up to collect the goods at the end of the sale/bidding he should know exactly what he is expecting to collect and it would avoid situations like this one (goods not matching description).

what an absolutely ridiculous way of looking at it, you bid to buy yes but the advert needs to be accurate, surely you can see that the car having no floor is quite a major thing that needs disclosing lol

i must agree with most on this when i sell anything on ebay i always give a excellent discription that way no ones time is wasted, there is nothing worse then turning up for something that is not as it was discribed,i have walked away from a few deals on ebay and stuff the offer to pay his listing fees if the ad was bollocks then he should pay,why offer to pay his fees when the car is a over discribed shed getting your hopes up and traveling for a tub of filler with some fibreglass and a flintstone floor

He's not a timewaister,maybe a timewaster!!!

But seriously you did the right thing, not too this scale but I drove 70 miles each way to look at a golf the other day describe as a genuine 40k with a few bits of rust.
Ok,it was Ł200 but had a cracked screen, rotten chassis legs, tons of dents, rotten rear sills, missing interior parts and no way to prove the mileage.
Like that one it could have still turned a profit but the disappointment of seeing such a shed put me off.

disagree on that point mate as being in scotland everything i find on ebay is always down south!

i always get as many pictures as possible as i am willing to travel to collect something if its the right thing but sometimes things are too far away to make 2 trips.

seller should of had some pictures and mentions of the front floor pans missing imo!

cheers

Yes unsure of the year of car but it had the floor pan removed and a sierra one partially welded in, to be fair what had been done looked half right but I wasn't in for the fitting of the rest of it plus the rest of work it required.

We have both agreed and have now cancelled the winning bid, I am sure it will go back on eBay but with a little more info.

Alls well and all that.
