OMG any moron could tell that this design is awful, it's just bound to break, that's completely obvious.
So anyway, as luck had it, I didn't get injured, was still jacking the car up - but had I been sitting in a slightly different postion as I wound the handle, the jack might have broken my leg as it came crashing down.
So now I own a trolley jack. £16.99 for a 2 ton jack from Motor World, not bad I thought, the same jack in HalFrauds was £29.99.

a good trolley jack costs bout £40 if you have no axel stands
throw the wheel underneath the car as a backup "expensive or not "
metal can be replaced "LEGS ARE PRICELESS"
