I've got one of those, shows engine fault codes and clears them, does exactly what it says on the tin!

so did it help solve the issue you had on your own car?
lights come on in the sportka, just seems odd that garages charge for using their equipment when ebay sales them for under Ł20

That is very basic, nothing like what a garage would use. It will only read the codes and delete where possible.

The garage versions are far better, They allow data logging of sensors and also view other
parameters as they are being used.

The one in the link will purely read codes and clear them, Not diognose why the codes have come up

They defo help a lot though as at least if you know what the error is you have a good chance of finding the fault. Then can be cleared if needed. I have found the garage equipment is only as good as the bloke using it, it points them at the fault but if they are no good it doesn't help.
