Default sportka eml light on, help

right, engine management light has come on and will not go out, came on after driving up a hill( dont know if that is important or not) then the car lost power and slowed right down, so pulled over and restarted car after 5minutes, car drives fine now but light still on,
any ideas chaps?

oh,untill then the car had been parked up all day (8hours) also dont know if the hot weather would be of any relivance??

Not sure why your EML came on with your situation but I had it come on on my mk2 focus because a spark plug had shattered ceramic on it and was really chugging. Even after I changed the plugs it didnt go out but ran like a new car.

Just removed battery leads for few hours while I was doing bits and when I put it back on it came up on first turn of the key but switched it straight off and back on and it went out and has stayed out.

yes seems strange, been reading on the net about lambda sensors being a common fault,
does that make sense to anyone on here?

Get the fault codes read, before you start changing expensive parts that are perfectly good.
