Default Best parts to use on a rwd escort cosworth?

After many months of fucking around with FWD shells trying to make a escort cosworth replica ive managed to get hold of a escort cosworth shell at a decent price! happy days

I want to build it rwd for fast road and track use and hopefully some drifting once ive got the hang of it in my e30.

What are the best parts i should use? I have to keep it as cheap as possible but as i only have a shell at the moment with no cosworth bits. so i need to buy everything to get it rolling.

Ive herd that 3door hubs are better? whys this

I want to used a escos cross member and pas rack.. rather than the steel sierra version.

What track control arms should i use? escort or sierra?

what rear beam am i best of using escort or sierra

im guessing im better of using front and rear 2wd anti roll bars?

reason for all the questions is that i want it to have the best geometry for rwd

also what adjustable camber, castor etc options do i have?

i know about eccentric top mounts but what options do i have for the rear without going full wrc spec?

cheers matty

I got a rwd escort coz, runs 2wd rear beam, diff, shortend prop, escos front setup minus the front diff, t5 box and 205 block. Works really well. Its fully Polly bushes, koni fronts, rears are coilovers, strut brace front and back. Goes and handles spot on. Bloody scarey in the rain though

Sierra 4x4 stuff s basically the same as Escos stuff.... and in reality no better for drift use even though sme say it is. I've tried plenty set ups and found that ditching the ARB and going to compression struts made the biggest improvement.
Basically do everything you an to get more castor up front, and to a slightly lesser importance camber as well. So compression struts and adjustable top mounts are the way to go.

Some 4x4 hubs can be redrilled for more steering lock, but you only need that once you've got really good with standard lock. No hubs make enough of a difference geometry wise to be worthwhile choosing for that reason alone.

cheers for the info, like i say its not going to be a drift car i want to get my moneys worth out of it so i want to use it for everything so i want to make sure i have the ability to adjust when i need it.

i have adjustable top mounts i just have to get the strengthening plates and get them welded up.

i also have compression struts so i have been thinking about coing compression strut and wrc roll bar which could always be removed but at least its there then.

so as for the rear beam im best of just getting a 2wd cosworth rear end complete so i dont have to mess about.
