Default Uprating Dash lights on an S1!!!

i know i havn't driven the thing since last october....(actually, it hasn't moved!!) but i always remember the dash lights being very dim, to a point where its hard to make out the speedo!!

Whats the best way of upgrading these!??! as i don't just want to change the bulbs and find it don't make a blind bit of difference!!

any suggestions?!?!

the dash bulds are tiny things, and well inexpensive (£1-£2)to why not replace the ones for one part of your dash (say your rev counter only) then when its dark turn lights on and see if the 2 or so new ones make a difference if not get nomads elumenisent (spel)

fiesta mk3 lights was a mod they used to do for the mk4 escorts a few yaers ago to make em brighter

the led bulbs would be brighter too as there bright when ya looking straight at em like ya do in the dash, just the white ones will be a little blue ( look at my side lights for example

Strip the clocks down, replace all the bulbs (from Ford) but before you put it back together, clean all the little blue "Bowls" which cover the bulbs, unfortunatly though some of them may be a little "burnt" so not really alot can do about that... did mine on my RS1600i years back made a HUGE difference for an hours work!!

When I had my XR2 I did the same as Scott, ripped the blue covers off ad it made the dash light up lovely.

I've replaced all my dash lights on my S2 with LED bulbs now, mainly cos they won't blow so quickly...

I'v also found 2 more holes for extra bulbs as well and cut them in
