Default who's got leather seats?

Has anyone had there recaros retrimmed in leather on the bolsters and headrest but left the centre in the original fabric? If you could post a few pics as I'm thinking of having mine done but the retrimmers want 950 + vat to do them! Anyone else think that's abit expensive?

thats fookin crazy
look on ebay to get a hide or even rememnet large enough and any upholdster can do it
i stripped a set of recaros once and bought the leather and my mum was sposed to make them but never did
leather cost under £40 enough to do fronst and rears, if they are able to take the material apart and copy it its so easy to do

given a basic machine you could do it unpick the seems, cut copies of the greymaterial in leather and sew back together inside out, and reattach, you can even coevr up mistakes easy because the covers will pull about quite alot

for a grand and over i'd give it a go 1st even if you buy a shit seat for £50 and make patterns from that

i told my mum to do off the shelf leather kits but she never bothers, could ask 600 i recon and £200 to fit if needed which takes minimum time really

I dont know if its much help, but my old man has just taken his Taxi in today to have the drivers recaro seat retrimmed in half leather. They are charging him nigh on £300 just to do the one seat.

Its an expensive buisness this retrimming game I really want them done in leather but ijust can't justify throwing that much money on some seats. Anyone no if sparco, cobra etc make tilting front seats as they maybe cheaper than having the originals retrimmed at this rate

I had my series 1 seats retrimmed in grey leather similar to original colour fabric, leaving the centers in the original fabric, by JP King in leicester cost was £700, a few years ago mind, front and back seats look superb, but I saw some done in dark blue on the seriesoneturbo site in luca's car and they look so much better, wished I had seen them before and had mine done the same.

If you were near to me I would have trimmed them for 450 and you supply the leather or add 85 to 120 for hide depending on colour
