3 door rear anti roll bar ,maybe rs matt can help here
Hi. Last week i changed my diff mount to a msd item, while i was under the car fitting it i noticed my rear anti roll bar bushes were past it . So today i went to burtonpower to collect some powerflex ones . I remove the old ones and fit the new ones only to find that i can move the roll bar about and left to right . Called burtons and they said standard 3 doors are 14mm . Now the bush sits ok round the roll bar but the overall bush is not big enough .Went back to burtons and all they said was i must have a uprated arb and gave me a refund
but im pretty sure its standard .
The numbers on the ford bushes are
V85BB-4A037-AA And they measure from top to bottom 38mm .
Can anyone just take alook at theres for me as the powerflex ones only came out around 34mm and there no good !!
RS matt i see you just fitted new ones if you can shed any light on the above it would be a massive help

Afaik all bushs are the same "outside diameter " , the difference is in the cut out for the bar, 3dr,Sierra. 2wd,saff 4x4 , escos all have different diameter bars.
3dr is a different mounting item, others are swappable....
Maybe you have a saff beam on your 3dr...

The above part number was wrong for my car mate
I understand that the roll bars are 14mm or 16mm .
The powerflex ones i fitted were ok around the roll bar but the whole bush top/bottom was way to short .

The above link are the ones i tried to fit, now from the bottom of the hole to the flat edge of the bush needs to be around 3/4mm thicker to fit my car .
As far as i know its a standard roll bar with standard ford bushes .
May be worth the people who have fitted these to just go have a look and see if there is movement left/right on there roll bar .
As soon as i removed the ford bushes i could see straight away the size difference.

Also from the link, just click below the picture where it says alternative view and they are all different , mine look like the 2nd one in and burtons gave me the 3rd ones

If you can wait until Wednesday morning i will measure all mine up - brackets, Powerflex bushes & std 3dr bar for you as they are off the car - i have no movement and mine are pretty tight
Mine look like the 3rd ones - the ones on the left look too small

My arb is 14mm .On my burton reciept it says they sold me POLY66A Xr4i & 3 door cosworth 14mm. if you could look brammer that would be great, a nice easy item to change on the car just ends up a headache ,im so unsure about ordering some online as i know il end up with the wrong ones again
Thanks brammer thats a great help mate......soo today
I called powerflex head office not to complain to to find out what the issue was,the guy there was a great help and said he would call me back within the hour.
45 mins later he calls me back, turns out a few years ago at powerflex there was a fire , after the damage was done some bushes were made to old spec and part numbers etc crossed and mis made . Turned out he had a 3 door cosworth in there yard so he measured the bushes on that car and said my findings were correct the bushes i was sold are wrong.
He also said they didnt stock these larger bushes and as i found out a cock up on there site they are re making them and posting me a set for freeeee
SO anyone with a 3 door who wants to replace there old ones give them a call as there re making them within the next 2 weeks
