I have been looking for a cheap quote for my everyday car and most aren't quoting me happy as i did have 6 points but they are off my licence but i still have to declare for another 12 months to make up the 5 years
I have done a compare site search and this company Chaucer direct has given a decent price of £309.00 but i haven't heard of them and when it comes to something serious like insurance i don't want it to be dodgy company - not sure how secure those compare sites are when letting company's deal through them
This is off their website in Q&A's
ChaucerDirect is a trading name of Chaucer Insurance Services Limited (an FSA registered insurance intermediary) and a wholly owned subsidiary of Chaucer Syndicates Limited – part of Chaucer Holdings PLC, a publicly listed company - which trades at Lloyd’s of London. The Chaucer group is long-established with roots tracing back to 1922 and has been providing motor insurance through brokers since 1964.

On and off over the last 8 years or so I've had my 3DR insured with them under a classic policy. I've never had any problems with them but I've never had any reason to claim either.
The only other involvement I have had with them is I had breakdown cover through them and when I needed to use it they were always efficient.

Chaucer insurance are one of the big underwriters in the UK. Their "Chaucer Direct" is an online version of their programme.
My company is an approved repairer for them and on the whole we have no major issues.
Chaucer are also a main provider of classic and agreed value insurance policies.
