3"downpipe into 2.5" on mondeo st tdci

Smile 3"downpipe into 2.5" on mondeo st tdci

hi all ,
i have a 2004 st tdci with 84000 on the clock ive got a few mod done to the car eibach lowering springs,k&n induction kit,egr bypass valve,decat pipe and a custom remap my next step is an exhaust system which its booked in for next week at dp exhausts they say theyve been developing a system for this car and theyve done three so far and says theyve had great results its a 3"down pipe and flexy pipe replacing the decat i currently have on but it will be going into my 2.5 middle pipe then what ever tail pipe i choose which i thought was ok as he explained to me that diesel pipes dont rot like petrols ?
my mate reckons that its going to be resticted going from 3"to 2.5" could i get some advice please

Is it making over 350-400bhp ?

Then it's unlikely the 2.5" is any restriction at all

Is the turbo outlet even 3" seems well over kill.

In terms of petrol any way. Have no idea about dervs. I no the yanks run like 5-6" pipes on some of there big derv stuff.

Hi no it probably not even pushing close to 200bhp at the moment I couldn't tell you I've not had it on a rolling road yet

Having a big downpipe is never a bad thing. But 2.5" will never be a restriction at such low power for the rest of the system
