My brother had one a few years ago until it was written off, was a damn clean car and apart from being terrible at getting its power down it was a good reliable motor
I quite like the old 8v engine, had one in a calibra with a 130k on it and it did the book top speed of 127mph all day long, never driven the redtop although seen a few gsi cav's shift, always wanted a 2.0 turbo 4x4 cav but rare these days

rare because people rape them for their engines for corsas and novas
wouldnt mind one myself but its finding a decent one for a decent price
my dads next door neighbours friend has one in white, its immaculate... then he walks round the back and sees my shitty sierra Is the lotus carlton rwd and the cav mk2 fwd?
Love them old Sri 130's anyone remember the rare cav that wasn't a cav was it a calibra they were red?.
Had a nova Sri and gsi when i was 18 you could turn the hazard light switch round and take the keys out also Astra gsi was a good car actually even better at 19 quick too (obviously didn't break any speed limits)
Me too, and I ruddy hate vauxhalls. I'd happily own that, de-gay it a bit and give it a good spruce up.
Mate of mine had one years back, was a dark steel grey colour, the amount of abuse it took was unbelieveable! Don't build vauxhalls like they used to lol
my mate had a cavalier gsi 16v 2 litre j reg i think it was, went really well would do an indicated 150 mph without to much bother, great car in its day.
i really like cavaliers and ive had 8 over the years, only mk3 never a mk2, my first was a 1.8 ls i made a turbo rep out of and i had a mint g reg gsi till some twat nicked it
Had a few base spec mk2's years ago and then had a red 130 saloon. The car looked mint but it was quite rotten underneath. We used to have loads of these back in the day when my mums husband was trading ,Cdi's,lxi's etc 1.8/2.0 8v was pretty bullet proof.A gut in my street has a red mk2 cab,but . . . . . its auto
