Default Bonnet catch

My bonnet catch is catching on my intercooler slighty now I've Bent the catch up but how safe is that?

Is there a check strap I can put in or something?

Or is it time for bonnet pins

use a mk3 escort catch or cut the mk4 one to the same as a mk3.

Also use a check strap that is available if you search.

cut them its much easier than finding a good mk3 one anyways.

Ill see if i can find a pic.

Look at your bonnet catch and where it touches the bonnet, if you notice there is a inner section of the bonnet at this position, so you need to cut the end of the handle so that it will push inside the bonnet as such. Then just bend it slightly so it stays away from the rad and cooler. Then add a check strap for peace of mind.
