Did the drift limits driving experience today, brilliant fun!
Ollie from Skye insurance recommended it to me so I booked it up for the day today, exclusive use of the track plus two cars and instructors and went along with 7 mates so we shared a car between four.
What a cracking day out!
Brilliant fun but also really good for actually learning something, we varied from having no rwd experience to having a fair bit of road experience and small amount of track experience in rwd but by the end of the day we were all doing quite well.

We started with handbrakes and j turns just to get a bit of a feel for the two mx5's we used, then went onto donuts then linking left and right small speed drifts then higher speed lift off oversteer to provoke then on with the power to keep it going. Then we did full laps of the newly surfaced track to put it all together.
Really chilled and friendly guys who clearly enjoyed helpin us all progress.
Would thoroughly recommend to anyone.
Plus at the end johnny gave us flying passenger laps in either an mx5 or s2000 depending on which people preferred.
That was brilliant fun, he can really pedal and it properly showed what the cars can do and how well every inch of the track can be used.
We all want to go back for another go soon now

If you just book a single place it's 179 for the full day.
If you bulk book you can negotiate a but of a discount though
Properly good value, we got through four tyre changes iirc, they really let you make good use of the cars, not like some similar experiences where they really hold you back.

Cars were basically driving most of the day, and it was four per car so you were out for five or take 15 mins every hour, and when you weren't then obviously you could watch and lean from seeing others try.
They have a pool table in the hospitality suite but we didn't bother using it as we all wanted to watch how each other were getting on.

Relatively new company so the experience is still changing slightly as they get feedback, we were the first group to get the high speed passenger rides with them drifting the S2000 for example, but hopefully that will be staying in for future events as it was a really cool end to the day.
Also if you go as a group and book the all the places for whole day between you, they actually are pretty open to tailoring the event for you once you have done the initial one, so they said if we go back they can change it around for us next time so that we do less of the initial basic exercises and more of the linked together stuff, although TBH we probably could all still to do with more practice on the more trivial stuff anyway as althogh most of us did them fairly well, there is certainly still room for improvement on all of them.
100% of the 8 of us who went yesterday are determined to go back again, so I guess they must be doing something right

Exactly what everyone was saying yesterday mate, they all enjoyed the fact you get to properly hammer the cars and the instructors encourage you to try hard not keep telling you to take it easy like on some days.
Unless you have been to the part of bovingdon that drift limits use in the last week you have no idea what the surface is like, its just been freshly tarmaced for the whole of the drift track
Sounds like a good day
its about time bovindon sorted the surface out that place was so underused it was wasted
I remember going to the Sunday market and my dad let me drive his mk2 Granada up and down I was only 12 he didn't half shit it when I footed it and dropped a gear and shot off
