If you keep running it and let it over heat then you'll fuck it.

Head gasket piece of piss on a Rs turbo. Get a new gen head gasket and get the head skimmed if needed.

So if the was cracked is that the reason for skimming could you tell by looking at the head if it was cracked or would it need to be xrayed or sum thing ? Once taken off of course

If the head is cracked its throw away mate..

Sometimes you can see the crack and sometimes not but on the cvh its normally between the valves

way to tell is crack test or pressure test. tbh its probably just the head gasket. get a light skim as a matter of course. use a genuine (payern) gasket. so long as you havent continued to drive/thrash it with the h/g blown you should be ok without further damage. driving it while the h/gasket is knackered will lead to big problems. big temps mean big trouble. get it fixed, its piss easy d.i.y and not that expensive if getting a mechanic on it.

Sounds very headgasket like to me. Whip the head off and have it crack tested and skimmed (only if needed), new genuine Ford or Payern headgasket and new stretch bolts for the head. DIY the whole lot and it should be cheap as chips

when you say white smoke, you sure it's not oil in the exhaust from the turbo seals leaking, pop the exhaust off and check for oil in the pipe.
does sound like a head gasket failure though.

White = water
Blue = oil
Grey = fuel

You don't need a huge leak in the headgasket to make a fair bit of white smoke

How would you explain the massive high temps if it was just a turbo seal only asking as I'm not a mechanic

if your getting high temps its going to be headgasket, worse case head is cracked

the white smoke your seeing is steam, so if the head gasket is split or the head is cracked its allowing water into the cylinders which is being pushed out into the exhaust causing the steam, but if you let it get that hot becuase the head is alloy it warps the head and you can only take so much off before the head is scrap anyhow.

dont run it up anymore, get the head off or take it to a garage to be sorted, becuase water doesnt compress so your causing more damage by keeping it running

another thing to check is your dipstick and oil cap, check to see if you have any white sludge in there or on dipstick, becuase this will show water in your oil which isnt good either becuase the water will get into your engine and then cause a lot more issues

the cheapest if just a headgasket in what you need is

headgasket and top end gasket set
headbolts
cambelt
may asel put a tensioner on aswell
spark plugs
oil and filter
may aswell do thermostat aswell while its all off
head skim and pressure check

if head is scrap then new head, you can use your cam and lifters from your head anyhow, or replace with a higher lift cam while its off

It's steam not smoke, white smoke is oil, as is blue, it's just down to the way it's being burnt. Black smoke is overfuelling.

If it's not loosing any coolant, then it's not a HG!
