krypton tune! any point

Default krypton tune! any point

hi guys got my car back on the road after 11yrs last week, however the emissions were mega, I have taken the plugs out and they are black the car is missing and coughing and spluttering like mad and stinking of fuel.
Im too afraid to drive it anywhere in case it breaks down, he comes my question

Is it worth me getting out a mobile tuning to give it a set up or should i try and get it to the nearest rollers to get it checked out?
Or are these mobile guys a waste of time and money
any advice appreciated

It entirely depends on the car you have, as said? If servicing has been neglected, then it's worth giving it a full service first, before you even think of getting it tuned.

Edit: Just spotted the forum it's in, makes it kind of obvious lol, assuming it's a non Cosworth, what model/engine is it?

Hi sorry its a 3dr cossie, standard, Has had a full service new plugs oil etc etc. Did about 50 miles last week and was ok but not very smooth starting and used a lot of fuel. Was also idleing at 1100 when warm. I have adjusted the idle speed but now the car is even worse, missing for a good 30-50 seconds on startup cold or warm. I know a rolling road setup is obviously best but the nearest one is a considerable distance from me and im afraid i will do damage trying to drive the car there.
The reason i thought of a mobile guy is to try and get the emissions down so the car would run ok hopefully
Any ideas would be great as im scratching my head now as im stumped

First thing I would be doing is replacing the CTS, this sensor is at the back left hand side of the head, it's a bit tight to get to, this is likely to be a cause of the problem, and if not it's worth replacing it anyway.

This, essentially, is a thermistor and tells the ECU the temperature of the coolant, this is an input which will determine the base level of fuel injected from freezing to boiling.

Over time though, being a resistor the output on these can go out of range, hence telling the ECU duff info, leading to your overfuelling.

Personally, if it were me I woulden't use a Krypton tune, I would use a specialist for a 'setup'.
