I decided to do my lifters and change the colour scheme of the engine bay as the gold was making my eyes water
One thing led to another and basically the engine is in bits
I am hoping to get the car done for April
Here’s how she looked under the bonnet

Once i got the tanks off i could see that the bay was quite messy and covered in bits of oil and crud.

Sooooooooooo I thought I’ll just remove this and that and a few other bits to make it easier to clean

Then the inevitable happened

While the engine is out i am going to renew a few seals and hoses

Loom coming out for a tidy up

Few bits being cleaned up

Tanks all polished back to stainless ready to have some bits welded then powder coated

Brackets ready for painting

Other small bits Cleaned up

Thought I’d cheer myself up and get some bits for when she goes back together
Custom stainless PAS cooler (cheers Lee @Fusion
) got a stainless bottom water pipe as well and stainless boost pipe but forgot to take pics

Thanks again to Lee for starting the comp housing off

Decent boost hose clamps

RS500 front Splitter

Refurbed cam cover from Gaz at Northwest cam covers top job

Carbon Cam belt cover looks really good in the flesh

Had these Grills kicking about too so they will go on

My BBS rims that will be refurbed black with a polished lip and then diamond cut face so the will look the same as the standard rims but a bit more bling

Cheers for looking and I’ll keep you updated

Well i haven't done alot as i have been a little pre occupied with getting the pulsar sold now its gone i can get back to doing the cossie
Cleaned the block and head

Then a coat of paint or 2

dusted the head with some high temp silver but it looks a little white in the photos
Then attacked the manky engine bay with some degreaser and wax.......

Quite chuffed with the engine bay no rust to speak of just a few bolts/washers to replace and a few spots under the brackets/bolts where the paint has gone down to the primer. I was going to paint the bay but it can stay as is unill i get the whole car painted at a later date.

mini update need some new studs and nuts for the cam caps as the thread has gone on some of them and i cant torque them down properly
on the plus side i have some more goodies to go on the car....
Got my SPA gauges
and got my aeroquip and Oil cooler

Also sat there and polished my throttle housing while i was waiting on some bits then thought Hmm that was a bit gay as i am not really buftifying the car
ahh well its done now

Just got to get the pulleys powder coated then i can finish on the block and get the engine back in

Well i have not done much since last time as i am waiting for some bits to be powdercoated before i refit them to the engine. But i have started fitting the bits i could sump cams etc

Then i got round to sorting my manky loom out and attacking it with a soildering iron

didn't turn out too bad hope the bloody thing starts now though

and just a random pic to remind me what an engine looks like with a cam cover as its been so long since its been together

Not long now though

Hope to pick up the rest of the bits on sat and then bolt them all up over the bank holiday and hope to get the engine back in the car as well
